Arlene Frei - COMBO Union Steward Retires

It is the goal of every civil servant to retire when the time is right – that being said Arlene Frei loyal COMBO Union Steward with just over 24 years of service to both OCM BOCES and to COMBO finally retired on 01/07/2025.

She was honored with a beautiful Retirement Celebration on January 6th , 2025 at the Main Campus. Her celebration was attended by many, including many current & retired COMBO members, co-workers, School District personnel & even members of the OCM BOCES cabinet. As a nice tribute, our Superintendent, Matt Cook, honored Arlene with a touching heartfelt speech about Arlene, her work ethic, accomplishments and how she’s been threatening to retire for the last decade, and how she will be missed, by all!

Arlene Frei was our resident COMBO Retirement Guru – and she worked tirelessly with fellow members to help ensure they were informed, and asking the right questions before making their own retirement plans official. She’s been instrumental on all things retirement.

She helped us discover a Retirement ERS – COMBO Check List form to assist in the process

She’s also assisted us w/ making sure we have an online planning guide available for all future retirees that are close to retirement. “Your Blueprint for a Successful Retirement” is available in hard copy and through a .pdf. – just E-mail your Local Building Rep, or info@gocombo.org and we’ll get you the COMBO Retirement Checklist & Your Blueprint for a Successful Retirement: An online planning guide.

Thank you Arlene for all your hard work & years of service!
